Confirm the Filing Chart
Check the USCIS Adjustment of Status Filing Charts page. Ensure they are accepting the chart where you are current (Dates for Filing vs Final Action). Do not assume!

Schedule Medical Exams (I-693)
Civil surgeons can be booked out for weeks. Call immediately. You need a sealed I-693 envelope for each family member.
⚠️ DO NOT open the sealed envelope given by the doctor!

Gather Birth Certificates
You need long-form birth certificates for everyone. If they are not in English, get certified translations done immediately.

Update Photos
Get standard U.S. passport-style photos (2x2 inches) taken within the last 30 days. Get 6-8 copies per person.

If your company provides an attorney, notify them immediately. Being proactive ensures you are at the top of their pile.
